Recently we farmed for a bit of information by asking the following question on our Facebook page; "What sort of businesses or restaurants do you WISH we had in our neck of the woods?" And our listeners answered!

These are businesses we've experienced in other towns, or maybe they're businesses that once had a spot near our own backyards, but, for whatever reason, didn't stick.

The following list is comprised of the most requested businesses. We tallied the votes of those who participated in our Facebook thread.

If there are any wealthy folks out there looking to bring a specific franchise to Deep East Texas, take note of this list.

    Something, ANYTHING For Kids

Discovery Zone, Top Golf, Trampoline Gym

A lot of folks had the same idea with no particular business in mind. They just wanted something for their kids to do. With Summer just around the corner, we feel their pain.

But don't forget that Nacogdoches now has a water park, The Lufkin Mall has that weird slingshot thing, the bounce house area, and those animal bikes. And let's not forget all the gorgeous parks we have.

    Dave and Buster's

    Kid stuff ... For Adults

Our closest D&B's is in Houston, and that three plus hour drive doesn't seem as fun as the few hours you'll spend drinking, eating steaks, and playing video games.

If you look at their location map you'll see that they are really only located in major cities, so it's doubtful we'll see them branch out to Deep East Texas any time soon. :(

    Chuck E. Cheese's

Starting to see a pattern here?

There's a Chuck E. Cheese's in Tyler, but that's just not close enough to us. I want to say we had one in Lufkin for a while, but it didn't stay for long. That's sort of the issue here, if we actually get the establishments we're asking for, we need to visit them regularly to keep them around.

    H-E-B Plus!

    or Central Market

The H-E-B we have nearby is great and all, but their Superstores are epic. Nearly half the place is fresh deli meats and with gourmet cheeses. They've got bakeries with breads, cakes, cookies, you name it. They keep craft beers in stock, and their's always something new to try.

    Kroger

    In Lufkin

Their is a Kroger in Nacogdoches. I don't know what else to say about this one.

    Arby's

COME BACK TO US, OUR LOVE!

We recently had to let go of the Arby's locations we had in Nac. There are a handful when you get closer to Houston, with the closest one "we think" in Hunstville.

Now all we have to say is ... watch this!

UPDATE: Arby's open as of May 10, 2018 located at north of Lufkin near the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 North and FM 2021.

    America's Incredible Pizza Company

We REALLY want to play games while we eat, huh?

If done right, America's Incredible Pizza Company should come with not only carnival-style games, but also carnival-style rides! They've got this carousel that spins while you're already rotating ... (Seems like a good idea to ride it before you eat) And they've even got a go-cart track.

    Panera Bread

    We want carbs!

Soups, salads, breads ... What else is there in life? But just look at this image. It shows us in green, the area we are not willing to drive for one meal, and just outside that red circle ... A bunch of Panera Bread locations!

    Fazoli's

Can't go wrong with Italian food.

Our closest Fazoli's is in Tyler, so if you are really craving it that badly, it's not too bad of a drive.

    Kohl's

Technically the first non-food related business that appeared on the request list multiple times. What is it about Kohl's that makes it stand out from the Kohl's-esque stores we already have? Maybe I don't get it because I'm a man. Let me know in the comments below so I can be enlightened.

    Bass Pro Shop

    Now we're talkin'

There are two in Houston and one in Shreveport, and again ... we're smack dab in the middle, having to drive several hours each way.

Bass Pro Shops are great for the whole family. They've got the gear you need to go fishing and hunting, but a whole lot more. There's cool indoor scenery, a fun shooting range, aquariums, and even a bowling alley in some.

    Saltgrass Steak House

And we're back to restaurants ...

This is where we'll bring the list to a close, since the next few on the list are more places for food, including an Adli, Trader Joe's, Chuy's, Jason's Deli, Joe's Crab Shack, TGI Fridays, Rib Crib, etc. The list goes on and on.

One person even put in the wish list, "Anything BUT a new restaurant," which made us chuckle.
