Texas Softball Playoffs – The Big Green Scoring Machine Rolls On

Round three of the Texas UIL Softball Playoffs is here. It's the Regional Quarterfinals and several Deep East Texas area teams are still in the hunt for a state title, including the Central Lady Dogs.

Central has been an awesome scoring machine as of late. They have averaged scoring 13 runs a game over their last 13 games. They are 30-5-1 on the year and have averaged scoring 10 runs a game for the season.

Central's next opponent, Orangefield, has been very stingy on defense, so this should be a great matchup.

Central Lady Dogs vs Orangefield Lady Bobcats, all games at Jasper ISD

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 11, 6:30 p.m.
• Game 2 - Friday, May 12, 7:30 p.m.
• Game 3 (if necessary) - Saturday, May 13, 2 p.m.

The Lady Dogs are the district champs of 21-3A, and the Lady Bobcats of Orangefield were first in District 22-3A. The winner of this series will advance to take on the winner of the Lexington-Grandview series.

Joaquin Lady Rams vs Shelbyville Lady Dragons, all games at Lufkin ISD

• Game 1 - Wednesday, May 10, 6 p.m.
• Game 2 - Saturday, May 13, 4 p.m.
• Game 3 (if necessary) - following game 2

Joaquin finished second in District 22-2A while Shelbyville finished third in the same district. The two teams split their district series with each other. The winner of this series will advance to take on the winner of the Hawkins-Frankston series.

Beckville Lady Cats vs Groveton Lady Indians, all games at Nacogdoches ISD

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 11, 6 p.m.
• Game 2 - Saturday, May 13, 12 noon
• Game 3 (if necessary) - following game 2

Beckville is the District 22-2A champion. The Lady Indians are the champs of District 21-2A.  The winner of this series will advance to take on the winner of the Harleton vs Como-Pickton series.

Latexo Lady Tigers vs Milano Lady Eagles, All games in Navasota

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 11th, 7:00 p.m.
• Game 2 - Friday, May 12th, 7:00 p.m.
• Game 3 (if necessary) - Saturday, May 13th, 11:00 a.m.

Latexo is the District 25-2A champion, and Milano is the District 27-2A runner-up. The winner of this series will play the winner of the Weimar vs Schulenburg series.

Brookeland Lady Wildcats vs Chester Lady Jackets

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 11, 6 p.m. in Woodville
• Game 2 - Friday, May 12, 5:30 p.m. in Cleveland
• Game 3 (if necessary) - following Game 2

Brookeland is the District 23A champ while Chester is the runner-up from that district. Brookeland swept the regular season series against Chester.

Slocum vs Medina, all games in Smithville

• Game 1 - Thursday, May 11, 4:30 p.m.
• Game 2 - Thursday, May 11, 6:30 p.m.
• Game 3 (if necessary) - Friday, May 12, 6 p.m.
