Pom Squad Championships Bring Record Crowds to Forest Festival [GALLERY]

What a night!

The 30th annual Texas State Forest Festival kicked off with quite a bang as dance teams from Angelina, Shelby, and Sabine counties competed in the 11th edition of the Pom Squad/Dance Team Championships.

Young ladies from area schools displayed their hard work and competed in such areas as jazz, pom, lyrical, hip hop, and kick. The event is sponsored by Academy of Gymnastics and Dance in Lufkin and over 200 members of Academy Elite treated the record crowd to a 10 minute routine that included high flying cheerleaders and turbo energy displays of tumbling.
