1980 – Willie Nelson’s “On The Road Again” drives to the top spot on the Billboard country singles chart.

 

1977 – Bucky Covington born in Rockingham, North Carolina. After competing on “American Idol,” he picks up a recording contract with Disney’s Lyric Street Records, earning a hit with his first single, 2007′s “A Different World”.

 

1927 – Patti Page born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Primarily a pop singer, she gains a monumental country hit in 1951 with her rendition of “The Tennessee Waltz”.
