Am I The Only One Who Gets Phantom Vibrations In Their Pocket?
The first time it happened I thought I was just imagining things; then, within a couple of days, it happened several more times.
I’m talking about phantom pocket vibrations (PPV)…has this happened to you yet?
If you haven’t experienced this yet, here are the symptoms:
You’re going thru your regular daily routine, unsuspecting, and then it happens — you feel the vibration in your pocket. You reach down for your cell phone to answer it and that’s when you realize your cell phone is not in your pocket!!
This has happened to me more than once and continues to happen presently. It doesn’t seem to be a medical concern for me, but it can be quite embarrassing. I mean, making an immediate reach into your pocket and then digging around for nothing while in a crowded room can caused some raised eyebrows.
I’m at a loss to explain PPV. I know it never happened until I owned a cell phone.
Some have offered the following explanations to me:
- extremely small particles of radiation from smartphones cause the random triggering of vibrations in your body
- some amputees experience phantom feelings from their missing legs or arms, maybe this is kind of the same thing when our beloved phones are not near our body
- some sort of alien and/or government conspiracy
- weasels (that was Sean Ericson’s input — he didn’t elaborate)
I just want to make sure that I’m not going off the deep end…so I have two questions:
Number one – Have you ever experience Phantom Pocket Vibrations?
Number two – What do you think could be causing this?
Thanks for your help.
