Wednesday was a day of competition in pies, cookies, breads, and rabbits at the Angelina County Youth Fair at the George H Henderson Jr Expo Center in Lufkin.  You can get the complete list of winners later in this blog.  Once again on the Merrell in the Morning Show today we featured some of those winners in home economics.  They are from left to right, Holden Boulware, Haley Brazil, Taylor Brazil, Brooke Long, Paige Rawlinson, Autumn Witt, Kimberlin Arnold, and Kendall Jackson.

And many of these youngsters were kind enough to go through the process of baking their award winning entries once again and on short notice so that we DJ's could stuff our faces.  Top row l-r, Cherry Scones, Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars, Irish Bread. Middle row, Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Bars, Amish White Bread. Bottom row, refrigerated cheese bread, homemade monkey bread.

There's still plenty of competitions going on at the youth fair over the next couple of days, plus the carnival begins operation today.  Get more details about all the events of the youth fair by clicking here.
