Usually, when it comes to the annual KICKS 105 Big Bass Splash on Lake Sam Rayburn, the person who catches the biggest fish wins the grand prize.  Not this time, however.

A angler who was fishing for bass instead hooked a monster catfish.  Can you just imagine the excitement this man must have felt when that fish first hit his lure, then, it didn't take long for him to realize that it was a catfish instead.

It was quite the catfish though.  Bob Sealy from Sealy Outdoors was in the process of trying to get someone with the Parks and Wildlife Department to verify the weight of the fish.  Sealy mentioned that the lake record for a catfish is over 74 pounds, however, this fish may have weighed more than that.
