Area Drug Free All-Stars Receive Scholarships

Over 20+ years ago, the Angelina County Drug Free All-Stars program was in its infancy and I'm proud to say that I was a part of the committee to oversee its development.  In addition to recognizing area seniors who made the commitment to be drug free, we wanted to find funds to provide scholarships to some of the All-Stars. 

Area businesses stepped up and have been stepping up ever since.  This year, The Coalition wrapped up another successful year with the 2014-2015 Drug Free All Stars. With the help of community partners, we were able to present six college scholarships to six of the Angelina County Drug Free All-Stars. These All-Stars went above and beyond to be role models in their community and committed themselves throughout the year to set an example of what it is to be drug, alcohol and tobacco free.
