How Fast Can One Man Eat the ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Johnny Rockets Menu?

Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, shrouded in mystery and a hurricane that never dissipates, lies a place beyond comprehension. It is Skull Island, a land where God never finished creation. It is home to monstrosities beyond imagination. Massive spiders with limbs like bamboo poles. Hideous lizard beasts known as skull-walkers. Also, street tots.

15 Lines We Never Want to Hear in a Movie Again

Last week, I got so sick of hearing a particular line of dialogue — “This isn’t a movie! This is real life!” — that I wrote a piece about it. While finishing it, I teased the article on Twitter by sharing the headline and inviting my followers to guess what line had set me off. I got well over 100 responses, but just one correct answer. But so many of the other replies were also outstanding examples of dumb clichés I decided to collect the best of the best (slash worst of the worst) in their own list.

Check Out the Interactive BB-8 Coming Soon to Disney World

You can claim that the true star of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was Rey or Finn or Kylo Ren. Or you could go with one of the old guard characters like General Leia or Han Solo. But you would be wrong. The true star of Force Awakens was BB-8. Period. End of discussion. He was the best.

25 Movies You Can Still Buy on VHS on Amazon Prime

For several years now, I have heard that VHS is the new vinyl. But aside from the occasional thinkpiece on the topic, I haven‘t see much tangible evidence to support that statement. A couple of the few remaining video stores in New York carry the analog tapes, but there hasn’t been a surge in new stores or specialty shops full of vintage VHS or VCRs. (And I live in Brooklyn; if such a place existed, it would be here.) With a few minor exceptions, I thought VHS was basically dead.

Coming Soon to a Theater Near You: Jungle Gyms

Movie theaters are in an arms race of amenities. Better chairs, more legroom, better food options, alcoholic beverages, meals served right at your seat; in the last few years, exhibitors have done whatever they can think of to drag people away from their computers and televisions. The latest gimmick, according to the Los Angeles Times: A freaking jungle gym in the actual auditorium.

‘Logan’ Review: One Last Ride for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, And It’s a Good One

The first X-Men movie opened on July 14, 2000. A child born early that year would have just turned 17 by the time the tenth entry in the X-Men series, Logan, hits theaters next month. That is fortunate – viewers are going to need a driver’s license to get into this movie, which possesses the hardest R rating of any American superhero movie in history. In the past, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would swing his razor-sharp adamantium claws and bad guys would simply fall to the ground. There was never any visible evidence of his brutality. There’s more graphic violence in Logan’s first scene – severed limbs, gruesome disembowlings – than in all of the other of the Wolverine and X-Men movies combined.

Jackie Chan’s Version of the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Theme Song Is Amazing

In the United States, Jackie Chan is known as one of the greatest action stars in film history. But Jackie Chan is a true Renaissance man, with many skills he has rarely had the opportunity to display to American audiences. For example: Did you know he is a classically trained opera singer? Though he’s rarely gotten to sing on the big screen, Chan did show off his vocal chops in the Mandarin-language version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. And not only did he provide the Beast’s spoken dialogue, he also sang the film’s songs. In the video above, you’ll see him in the music video for the Chinese version of the original “Beauty and the Beast” theme song.

All the Easter Eggs We Found in ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’

The LEGO Batman Movie, now playing in theaters (and Palace Cinema LEGO sets) everywhere, works perfectly well for any audience, regardless of their familiarity with Batman, LEGO or otherwise. For viewers who do know the nearly 80-year history of its title character, however, the film is a treasure trove of references. Following his debut in the pages of 1939’s Detective Comics #27, Batman quickly became one of the most famous heroes in all of comics, and eventually spawned television shows, movies, toys, video games, and countless pieces of merchandise, almost all of which get referenced in Chris McKay’s LEGO Batman Movie in some way, shape, or form.
