According to a press release issued Thursday afternoon by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department, authorities have identified the human remains that were discovered on March 13th north of Cushing in Northwest Nacogdoches County.  A person searching for a pet in the woods found a bone that looked to be human.  Sheriff Investigators along with the Texas Rangers conducted a search for several days of the area where more remains were collected.

According to Sheriff Jason Bridges, a forensic odontologist was used to help identify the human remains. The person has been identified as Justin Farrell from Nacogdoches County. Farrell was reported missing to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office in May 2004. He was last seen on May 10th, 2004 driving a silver 1996 Dodge Ram within Nacogdoches County5-10-2004 in Nacogdoches County.   The vehicle has not been found.

The case is being investigated as a questionable death by the Sheriff’s office. The Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.
