A black bear, similar to the one pictured,  at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas escaped his enclosure Monday morning and spent some time hanging out with some harbor seals.

According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, Oscar the bear managed to climb out of his habitat and then lumbered to a pond where the seals were located.  No seals were harmed and the visitors to the zoo were escorted to lockdown areas.  Zoo officials used a tranquilizer dart to immobilize the bear.  Within 90 minutes, things were back to normal.

Zoo management said they would modify the bear's enclosure.
