Braves Pitcher Set as Guest Speaker for Central Baseball Event
This Saturday, February 6th, the Central High School Baseball team will be hosting their 2nd annual First Pitch Dinner. The event gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the Central High School cafeteria.
The guest speaker will be Henderson native Tyrell Jenkins from the Atlanta Braves organization. Last year the 23-year-old was named the Minor League Pitcher of the Year for Atlanta. Regarded as one of the top prospects in all of baseball , Jenkins has an excellent chance at making the Major League team this year.
He will bring some silent auction items that include autographed baseballs from John Smoltz and Tom Glavine. In addition, he will have signed posters of Phillip Humbers perfect game in 2012.
