The Merrell family vacation week to Orlando is down to the last couple of days. We did the Universal Theme Parks for a couple of days and have now made the switch to Disney World.

I'll have some tips and ideas on how to better your trip to Mickey's place in later blogs, but I thought I would pass along some important findings when it comes to having a better family vacation to Universal.

And so it has started...the annual Merrell vacation.

Every Summer, my wife, 3 kids, and myself getaway for a week, sometimes it's a beach, sometimes the mountains, sometimes just down the road, but every 3 years or so we head off to our favorite destination - Disney World.

Danny's Note To Wife – Always Check Surroundings Before Taking That Picture

This past weekend, my wife and kids along with some other friends took a weekend trip to Galveston.

This has become an annual trek which includes a trip to Schlitterbahn, shopping, and dropping my oldest off at Sea Camp. (I wasn't able to make the trip this year)

I always look forward to the pictures of the event, however, in one of the photos taken, I was quick to remind my wife that she might want to look at the surroundings before taking the shot.

The picture at left is a great picture of my daughters and some of their wonderful friends...however, take a look at the un-cropped picture after the jump.

For the past week, I have been traveling with my family along with other area students, teachers, and families on an educational trip to England and France.

There are many stories and pictures I want to share and I will do my best to do this over the course of this week.

Let's start with pictures from the Dover Castle along the White Cliffs of Dover, the Eiffel Tower at day and night, Trafalgar Square, and evidence that jet lag exists.
