Who will be tops in Pom this year? The annual KICKS 105 Pom Pon/Dance Team competition will kick off the Texas State Forest Festival on Wednesday, September 16th at the George H Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin.

Nacogdoches area residents will soon have the opportunity to help the Nacogdoches Independent School District in their need for new construction and improvements.

The Nacogdoches 9U Dixie League All Stars paid a visit to the Merrell in the Morning Show on Tuesday.  We talked about their upcoming travels to the World Series, and we have a little game of lobby baseball.

Over 20+ years ago, the Angelina County Drug Free All-Stars program was in its infancy and I'm proud to say that I was a part of the committee to oversee its development.  In addition to recognizing area seniors who made the commitment to be drug free, we wanted to find funds to provide scholarships to some of the All-Stars.

Today, May 7th, is designated as the National Day of Prayer.  Certainly, everyday should be a day of prayer as it is for so many across the world.  But, still, it's encouraging and refreshing to see many individuals, communities, and organizations putting together prayer events for the day.

Meet Emma Broyer and Levi Mayhew.  They both have earned their wings, and no, it has nothing to do with the picture on the plane.  I'm talking angel wings.
