Today marks the 70th anniversary of the 'day that will live in infamy'.
2403 brave men and women lost their lives on December 7th, 1941. To many, unfortunately, it's just a number.
I was able to find a video which scrolls the names of all who were killed...it certainly gives you a better personal appreciation of the loss of life.

What happens when you spend nearly 200 days deployed at sea and finally get the word that you'll be home for Christmas? Especially when you consider the deployment was only supposed to last 7 weeks.
Well, for the crew of the HMS Ocean, it means get the video camera and let's get silly.
This video was part of the program today at the Huntington ISD salute to veterans.
I had never heard of this island and it's significance, but this video is a beautiful and heart-wrenching example of respect, reverence, and never leaving a soldier behind.
