Last week, Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement that he was going to designate Monday, February 2nd as Chris Kyle Day in Texas.

Ben Weber died Wednesday at the age 91.  The World War II veteran was the special guest speaker at last Tuesday's Huntington ISD Veterans Day event.

Here's a story for Veterans Day that will give you all the feels.

On this date in 1918, in the 11th month, the 11th hour of the 11th day, World War I officially came to an end.  Originally called Armistice Day, legislation in 1954 officially changed the name to Veterans Day to honor all of our soldiers.

Lady Antebellum's '7FOR7' project has been a treat to watch as it unfolds. Together, the trio are bringing seven surprises to seven fans in seven days. Their latest episode will hit especially close to home for many country fans, as the bring joy to an Army wife.

Luke Bryan has promised to honor the troops in a big way. The singer, with help from a big beer company, will offer some very lucky servicemen and women an all-expense-paid trip to Chicago for one of his jaw-dropping concerts.

Whatever good Pat McAfee and Coby Fleener do on the field simply cannot compete with what they do off of it.

It's a treat to see members of the military who surprise their families by returning home unannounced. This video proves that the sheer joy of that is as strong as ever.

18 years and it just keeps getting better. Every Veterans Day since 1996, Huntington I.S.D. has put on a program honoring our soldiers.  What started as a gathering of about 25-30 veterans at the Huntington football field, has now blossomed into a full 2 hour spectacle at the high school's main auditorium in which this year nearly 150 veterans were in attendance and recognized.

Sometimes words are not necessary.  This is one of those instances...just watch the video.

We've seen more than our fair share of soldiers surprising their families by coming home, but this one might be a cut above the rest.
