At the time, it was nothing to laugh at, but as you look back at the video (and realize no one got hurt or worse), it's funny to see grown men and professional baseball players scrambling for the dugout and even going so far as hitting the dirt when this lightning strike hits in the immediate vicinity.
So cool, so calm. Listen as this guy shoots video while giving his wife the "play-by-play" of an oncoming tornado over the phone.
You think it gets hot in East Texas? Well, yes, it does.
But, the Midwest and Eastern part of the US have been experiencing some major heat over the past week, too. So much so, that a weatherman created the hottest forecast ever, along with a few surprises.
Debbie can't seem to make up her mind.
Tropical Storm Debbie continues to churn about 100 miles South of the Florida Panhandle. Top sustained winds are at 50 mph and Debbie is not moving much.
Hurricane season is barely a month old and we have our first named storm in the Gulf of Mexico.

Cool front...yes, a cool front is moving towards East Texas.
Don't pull out the sweaters just yet, we will see slightly cooler temperatures on Friday, but we're back to the 90's by the weekend. However, the front could cause some severe storms around the area today.

An eclipse like this only happens once every twenty years, and it will be viewable in Texas Sunday; partially anyway.
A solar eclipse is when the moon blocks out the sun for a time, and leaves a ring of fire around its circumference. The sky gets a little spooky-looking for a bit and then the moon and sun part like a good Dancing with the Stars release move, and life goes back to normal.
Spots like Reno, NV and Albuquerque, NM will have the most spectacular views of the complete eclipse, but the entire path of the eclipse stretches from China to Texas. Plenty of folks will have the opportunity to see the rare show of nature.
The National Weather Service is expecting quite a bit of wet weather to move across East and Northeast Texas over the next 24-48 hours, this could certainly create some issues with some of the baseball and softball playoff games scheduled in the area.
Around midnight last night strong storms pushed across the Pineywoods. Although none of the storms were considered to be severe by the National Weather Service, winds in excess of 45 mph were rather common, which has led to numerous power outages.
As we discussed with Jimmy Carter on the Merrell in the Morning Show, the severe storms that plagued the Plains over the weekend also caused some tense moments at a Miranda Lambert show in Wichita, KS.
Saturday night, venue officials at the Intrust Bank Arena knew that severe storms were expected to move through the area so they had a plan in place.
