Even most of the boldest storm chasers stayed away from Hurricane Patricia. Winds gusting over 200 mph can topple even the sturdiest of shelters...and that's exactly what was realized by the folks from iCylone.
On Friday, parts of north central and northeast Texas experienced rains totaling over 10 inches. Major roadways such as Interstates 45 and 35 were impassable and continue to be shut down in some areas.
A big rain event is coming to a large swath of Texas beginning today (Thursday) and continuing through Monday. A trough of low pressure will usher in a cool front which will act to squeeze a lot of much-needed rain across the Lone Star State.
