Changes for Northbound 59 Traffic at FM 2021

Another major step towards completion of the Highway 59/FM 2021 project will happen today according to the Texas Department of Transportation. 

Ttraffic will be moved to the final configuration in the U.S. 59 northbound mainlanes at FM 2021 in the Redland area. Concrete paving is complete allowing northbound motorists to be moved into the final main lanes of traffic. According to TxDOT, the traffic switch will provide a smooth and natural transition of traffic onto the newly constructed northbound mainlanes. The $18.8 million project began in December 2013 and is on schedule for completion in November 2015.

Caution is advised while traveling through the construction project and motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations, be prepared to slow down and remain alert. Traffic fines double when workers are present.
