Charlie Robison And Dixie Chick Emily Erwin Wed This Day In Country Music – May 1st (Video)

A song of true love!  Possibly a foreshadowing of what was to come for the Texas Music rebel and the Dixie Chick.  Still one of my favorites from Charlie Robison!

2009 – Dierks Bentley performs in Australia for the first time, opening for Brooks & Dunn in Perth.

2008 – George Strait picks up a gold album for “Troubadour”.

1999 – Dixie Chick Emily Erwin marries fellow artist Charlie Robison at a West Texas ranch. Fellow Chick Natalie Maines meets future husband Adrian Pasdar at the ceremony.

1993 – Charley Pride joins the Grand Ole Opry.

1989 – Universal Records releases The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Will The Circle Be Unbroken, Vol. 2″.

1982 – “Mountain Music” peaks at #1 for Alabama on the Billboard country singles chart.

1969 – Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan tape the first installment of “The Johnny Cash Show” at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. In the audience: future singer-songwriter John Hiatt.

1967 – Elvis Presley marries Priscilla Beaulieu at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

1967 – Tim McGraw born in Delhi, Louisiana. Married to Faith Hill in 1996, his ear for outstanding songs gains him multi-platinum albums, 15 years of hits and a stellar record of ticket sales, plus a side career in movies.

1929 – Sonny James born in Hackleburg, Alabama. Nicknamed the Southern Gentleman for his amiable personality, he registers 16 straight #1 singles from 1967-1972, including “Running Bear” and “Heaven Says Hello.” He also produces Marie Osmond’s “Paper Roses”.
