Chief of Police of Texas Town Killed in Line of Duty
The Police Chief of the town of Elmendorf, Texas was killed midday Saturday during a confrontation while serving an arrest warrant. Elmendorf is located just southeast of San Antonio.
According to a report, Michael Pimentel was engaged in a traffic stop in serving the warrant to 24 year old Joshua Manuel Lopez, also of Elmendorf. An altercation ensued and Pimentel was shot at least twice. The Police Chief was life flighted to a hospital in San Antonio, but he died from his wounds.
Lopez was taken into custody and charged with capital murder.
