Citizen of the Year Awarded at Nacogdoches Chamber Annual Meeting and Banquet
The 91st annual Meeting and Membership Banquet of the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce is set to get underway tonight (9/25) at the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the SFA campus.
Doors will open at 6 and dinner will be served at 7.
Some of the highlights of the evening will include the honoring of the Citizen of the Year, as well as the small, medium, and large businesses of the year.
Also, the Gary Justice Business Excellence Award will be presented.
Sgt. Greg Sowell of the Nacogdoches Police Department has been named as Citizen of the Year for 2012. It can truly be said that Sowell always wanted to be a policeman, and he has not only become one of the finest officers the police force has ever had, but he is a true friend to the community as he is always finding time to help and volunteer his services as pictured above in helping at a senior center fish fry.
The small business of the year is Heart of Texas Gift Gallery.
The medium business of the year is Austin Bank.
The large business of the year is Hotel Fredonia.
