In December 2011, Lufkin Head Football Coach John Outlaw passed away following a morning jog. He was an outstanding football coach, but more importantly, he was unmatched in how he mentored and cared for kids.

Trying to capture all that in a movie documentary is a huge and daunting undertaking, but filmmaker Matt Skinner and his staff took on the challenge.  In his words, Skinner wanted to make a film that "explores the life and influence of Coach John Outlaw in a way that "Coach" would've been proud."

'Outlaw - Life, Death, and Texas Football' is now complete and will be shown April 8th, 9th, and 10th at the Cinemark (near Buffalo Wild Wings) in Lufkin.  Each showing will begin at 7 p.m. and tickets will be $5 each.  All proceeds will benefit the John Outlaw foundation which is specifically designated for scholarships to help Lufkin High School students.

The documentary is to be shown in the largest auditorium that Cinemark has available which holds 260 people per viewing.  We will sell tickets until each night’s 260 tickets are sold out. (At the time of purchase you will need to specify which night you would like to attend and receive that specific ticket.)
