As someone that has had to deal with college financial aid in recent years, I can honestly say that I would've attended this class if it was available before I went to college.

I started attending Stephen F. Austin in August 2012, and graduated in May 2015. Before that, my parents and I sat down and learned about financial aid together. You know, deadlines, requirements, etc. If there had been a class beforehand, we would've gladly sat through it, trying to make the entire process easier. Don't get me wrong, we figured it out, but it was a long, hard process.

However, there is a class for you, if you want to take advantage of it.

July 18th, at 6:00 PM, you can make your way to the Nacogdoches Public Library for the College Savings Plan Event. There's no registration required, and anyone 12 and up can attend. Also, reps from Texas Tuition Promise will be there to discuss multiple savings plans.

Take it from me, if you're getting your kids ready for college, or if you're a student getting ready for college yourself, classes like these are probably a good idea.
