The Angelina Benefit Rodeo kicked off Wednesday night at the George H. Henderson Jr., Expo Center in Lufkin.  Once again, KICKS 105, Boot Barn, and Justin are proud to present the Mutton Bustin' Championships.

Each night, 12 riders try their best to stay on a sheep.  Wednesday night's 2nd ride of the night was good for 90 points as 6-year-old Gabriel Cruz of Corrigan rode the sheep named 'Forrest Gump'.  Cruz even took down the sheep 'steer doggin style' for added measure. Carter Ogden, 7, of Lufkin, followed closely behind with a ride of 89 points aboard 'A Sheep at the Wheel'. Preston Haglund, 6, of Lufkin finished third with a 79 point ride aboard 'Sheep Home Alabaaama'.

Other riders Wednesday night included Tiernan Chala, Jackson Havard, Caleb Johnson, Luke Levine, Wesson Mecham, Ella Taylor, Jackson Von Heinburg, and Ralston White.

The Mutton Bustin' Championships will continue each night of the Angelina Benefit Rodeo.  The rodeo begins nightly at 7.
