1998 – Country music’s first stadium tour, headlined by George Strait, concludes at Houston’s Rice Stadium. Also on the bill: Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, John Michael Montgomery, Lee Ann Womack and Asleep At The Wheel.

 

1997 – Tim McGraw & Faith Hill spend the first of six weeks at #1 in Billboard with “It’s Your Love”.

1977 – Drummer Randy Ragsdale is born in Enid, Oklahoma. He becomes a founding member of alt-country band Cross Canadian Ragweed, which lands four Top 10 country albums from 2004-2009.

 

1969 – ABC-TV airs the first episode of “The Johnny Cash Show,” with guest Bob Dylan joining the Man In Black on “Girl From The North Country.” Also appearing: Doug Kershaw and Joni Mitchell, who duets with Cash on “I Still Miss Someone”.
