Over 80 professional golfers took their shots Wednesday at Crown Colony on day one of the Adams Pro Tour.  The golf course which is considered one of the best and toughest in the state lived up to its billing.

Only 5 golfers turned in sub-par rounds while the average score was well over 77 (+5). In fact, 17 out of the 18 holes were playing above par.  The two toughest holes on day one were the par 4, 11th, and the par 3, 4th (shown above).  The par 5, 13th was the only hole playing below par.

Chris Ward of McKinney, TX., and Canadian Devin Carrey sit atop the leaderboard after day one.  They both carded rounds of 3 under par, 69.  Tied for 3rd are a trio of golfers at -1, BJ Staten of Utah, Johannes Veerman of Sugarland, TX., and South African M.J. Daffue.

There is still plenty of golfing to go as round two will get kicked off Thursday morning at 8.  Rounds 3 and 4 will be played Friday and Saturday.  The public is invited to attend and admission to be a spectator is free.  Plus, this is not only your chance to see some great golf, but your chance to rub elbows with guys that could very soon be playing on the PGA tour.
