White pants, loud turquoise shirt, pink suspenders...

That's what I wore as a club DJ back in the mid-1980's in Austin, Texas.  Thank God smartphones and instantaneous picture-taking were not around back then.

Why would I bring up such an embarrassing fashion episode in my life?  Basically to lay the foundation down that I was a club DJ for many years, from Austin to College Station and to Nacogdoches at Bullwinkles in the early 90's.  It's a great feeling to see a full dance floor and to know that you're responsible for that. And, that's my goal for this Saturday night.

It's being called 'Danny Merrell's Dancehall Saturday Night' at Banita Creek Hall.  If you like to two-step, double time two-step, waltz, polka, jitterbug, or just plain boogie-down, then this should be a night for you.  I'll be playing new and old, but the bottom line is to just come prepared to dance.

Doors will open at 8 and cover is just $5.
