Well, the title is a little misleading.  These are five of my favorite love songs, but this is like asking me to name my top five movies of all time.  I can give you a few off the top of my head, but then tomorrow I'll remember a few more, and in another week several more.

But, it is Valentine's Day, so I thought the occasion called for a listing of my favorite country love songs.  I also named a bonus non-country love song that is one of my all-time favorites.

What are some of your favorite love songs of all time?

I Cross My Heart - George Strait

I wish I had a buck for every time this song has been played at wedding receptions.  It's a beautiful song and hey...it's George Strait.  This song has to be in the top five.

Feels Like Home - Raul Malo/Martina McBride

This song was originally written and performed by Randy Newman (the same guy that sings You Got a Friend in Me for Toy Story).  The soaring, haunting voice of The Mavericks front man Raul Malo along with the beautiful and powerful voice of Martina McBride stops me in my tracks every time I hear this song.  What a wonderful way to tell someone you love them them...You 'Feel Like Home'.

New Again - Brad Paisley/Sara Evans

We usually associate Valentine's Day with someone's love for their significant other or for their family and friends and classmates.  How about the most ultimate show of love and sacrifice?  This song was inspired by the movie 'The Passion of the Christ' and exposes the true meaning of love.

I'll Still Be Loving You - Restless Heart

This was a number one song for Restless Heart in 1986.  Back then, I was a DJ at a club in Austin and this was one of my most requested 'last chance' songs.  In other words, the club was about to close and the guys were down to their last chance to get the girl's phone number and they thought this song was their best bet.

If I Could Make A Livin (Out of Lovin' You) - Steve Wariner

Steve Wariner is one of my favorite all-time singers.  He's also a great guy who I've had the pleasure to meet on several occasions.  When I married my beautiful wife in 1994, I designated this song as our first dance song.  But, guess who forgot the CD?  Yup, some groom named Danny.  We ended up dancing our first dance to 'I Never Knew Love' by Doug Stone, but I always make sure to play the Steve Wariner song every year on the radio on our anniversary.

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack

If someone asked me what my favorite love song is outside of country music, this would rank way up there.  Back in 1975, I had a state-of-the-art stereo that could actually record songs from your turntable to your 8-track.  This was the first song I ever recorded onto my custom 8-track
