Diboll’s Jermichael Finley Among Those Honored at Lufkin Pro Day Banquet

Thursday, October 22nd, the Lufkin Pro Day Group will honor 3 Angelina County men who have made great contributions to sports and to the lives that they have touched and influenced through the years. 

Jermichael Finley, former standout for the Green Bay Packers, Texas Longhorns, and Diboll Lumberjacks, Bud Maddux, youth baseball coach and trainer, and the late Oscar Kennedy, coach and teacher at Dunbar/Lufkin High School will be recognized for their major contributions through the years.

For the past several years, the Lufkin Pro Day Group has honored area athletes, coaches, and mentors such as Brandon Belt, Coach Guy Davis, Coach John Outlaw, Buddy Lowery, and Rex Hadnot.

The banquet will be held Thursday, October 22nd beginning at 6:30 PM at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center in Downtown Lufkin.  Tickets are available for $30.

There will also be a special recognition of the 2015 Lufkin Boys 5A State Champion Soccer Team.
