In 2015 and 2016 in Deep East Texas, rainfall amounts in May were well above normal, but as soon as June came around, the rain slowed to a trickle.  In 2017, we have had another wet May and it looks like the first few days of June could bring downpours across the Pineywoods.

As we close out the last few days of May, the rain chances will be going up.  It looks like the best chances of heavier rain will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  3-4 inches of rain could be commonplace across the area over the next 6 days.  So far, the Storm Prediction Center in Oklahoma is not expecting an outbreak of severe storms during this next week, but it will noteworthy to see if they hold to that forecast as we get later in the week.
