A rainbow arching near the Hallsville stadium represented the calm before the literal and figurative storms on Friday night.  Not long after this picture was taken, several nearby lightning strikes caused a half hour delay to the start of the Dragon and Bobcats football game.

Once the all clear was given and the game got underway, the figurative storm took place, a storm of points and offense, a storm of emotions that ebbed and flowed as the momentum and score of the game went back and forth.  After the lightning had passed and the dust had cleared (well, not much dust, it was an artificial playing surface), the Nacogdoches Dragons had secured their second straight one-point victory, 37-36 over Hallsville.

Much like last week's opener against Kilgore, the Dragons had to overcome a stout opponent as well as some mental mistakes before locking away the win with a last second field goal by Rudy Fuentes.  Hunter McClennan threw for over 300 yards and Coronado Tolbert rushed for nearly 250 yards en route to the win.

The Dragons will be on the road once again next Friday as they travel to take on the defending Class 3A champs - Carthage Bulldogs.  Remember, you can catch all the action with Danny Merrell handling the play by play on Q107.
