Brandon Belt, who was born in Nacogdoches and played his high school ball at Hudson, is on fire!!

He currently has an 11 game hitting streak for the San Francisco Giants, which includes 4 homers and some very clutch hitting performances.

Friday night, Belt drove in two runs in the ninth to tie the game against Oakland.  Tonight (Saturday) he had 3 RBIs, 2 of which came home with a 385 foot homer.

The 'Baby Giraffe', a nickname that was given to Belt, has raised his batting average over 50 points in the last week and a half.

If you're wanting to get a chance to cheer for the home town product, but don't want to drive too far, the Giants will be in Houston to take on the Astros August 28th-30th.
