A weekend of camping and fun in the Pineywoods ended in tragedy late Saturday night.  16-year-old Stevie Ray Hergert died from head injuries after being ejected from a side by side vehicle while out on a late night ride.  According to reports, Hergert was driving a 2009 Polaris Ranger near the intersection of County Roads 1114 and 1115, about 15 miles northeast of Jasper, when she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip over.  Another report added that two other occupants where in the vehicle, but they only received scratches and abrasions.

Hergert would have celebrated her 17th birthday later this month and she was going to be a senior at Port Neches-Groves High School.  She had aspirations to be a model. A GoFundMe Account has been set up to raise money to help pay for funeral expenses.
