East Texas Native, Philip Humber, Throws Perfect Game For Chicago White Sox
He was born on the 21st day of December. He pitched only the 21st perfect game in Major League history on the 21st day of April. And his jersey number is…41, well, not everything can be perfect.
But, yesterday, Philip Humber certainly was.
The right-handed pitcher who was born in Nacogdoches and played his high school ball in Carthage did not allow a Seattle Mariner to reach base – a perfect game- and this has only been accomplished 20 times previously in MLB history.
