The holidays are a time of bustling around, hectic planning and the addition of last minute touches. Apparently the same is true for even the most spectacular events of the season. NBC just reported that Faith Hill has canceled her planned appearance on tonight’s ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ NBC television special, which can expect about 250,000 live spectators and 11 million viewers.

Hill’s unexplained cancellation isn’t the only under-the-wire change thrown into the mix. Apparently Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey‘s joint music video for “All I Want for Christmas is You,” debuting tonight, was still in Los Angeles yesterday undergoing final edits. Plus, Neil Diamond rescheduled his taping on Tuesday, though his choir missed the memo and still arrived at the original time.

Even with all the eleventh hour changes, however, the show is shaping up to be an incredible one, and the 74-foot-tall Norway Spruce lit up like a charm in the practice run. The tree will be lit tonight by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Chairman of NBC Broadcasting Ted Harbert and Rob and Jerry Speyer, CEOs of Tishman Speyer (the company that owns Rockefeller Center).

Though Hill will be missed in the lineup tonight, stars like Justin Bieber, Carole King, Michael BubléTony BennettCee Lo Green, Katharine McPhee and ‘The Voice’ winner Javier Colon will make appearances on the holiday special, which airs at 7PM ET on NBC.
