In early 2017, if all goes well, the South Nacogdoches Highway 59 construction project should be completed.  As you drive through that area just south of Loop 224, it's hard to envision exactly what the finished product will look like.

Recently, I stumbled upon a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) video that shows a mock flyover of exactly what that finished product beyond 2017 will look like.

It's nothing like what I thought it would be.

As you're coming into Nacogdoches from the south, a bypass at Spradley Street will allow you to exit eastward on a freeway that will actually go behind the hotels and restaurants that are on the east side of Business 59.   That bypass will then rejoin with Loop 224 in an area south of the Highway 7 exit.

When going down Highway 59 at ground level it's hard to wrap your brain around what this may look like, but take a look at the video and everything should become much clearer.
