Game Wardens Have Been Targeting Lakes Looking for Drunk Boaters

If one of your favorite things to do during the summer is pack some frosty beverages on ice and head to the lake, be safe when you hop on the boat!

Texas Game Wardens said over the 4th of July weekend they made nearly 60 arrests for boating while intoxicated, and made contact with 30,000 boaters across the state as part of the crackdown.

The weekend before the 4th, there are reports that Game Wardens arrested another 17 boaters, and issued over a thousand citations.

It’s something to keep in mind if you’re headed to do some fishing at Lake Nacogdoches this summer, or headed to do some water skiing or wakeboarding at Lake Sam Rayburn. Have tons of fun, but if you decided to have tipsy fun, don’t operate the boat!
