George Strait Set for ‘Major Announcement’ in Late September

George Strait - at 60 he still sounds and looks great.  But, could a farewell tour be looming?  Here's what we do know - later this month, Strait is scheduled to have a press conference, probably in Nashville.  According to various sources and the Team Strait Facebook page, he is expected to reveal his plans for his next tour in 2013.  This tour will include a trip back to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

But, insiders have been told that George will be making one more major announcement at that conference.  Even his Facebook page acknowledges that --

"From Team Strait  ... Hey George Strait Fans! It is time to get excited about the 2013 George Strait Tour. George will be holding a press conference in late September and will be announcing his tour dates for next year. Rumor has it that other major announcements may be made as well.  Stay tuned for further updates."

 

So...that's why rumors are flying.  Some speculate that the other announcements may have to do with he's gonna tour with, or maybe the release date of a new studio album, or....dare we say...retirement!

The one certainty is that nobody know for certain and we'll just have to wait to find out what is going to be said from King George himself.
