Finish...Yes, they did....and they did it with style, grit, grace, and honor.

Kelsee Selman struck out 13 batters and the Lady Hornets got 13 hits and won 8-4 over Henderson at the class 3A state championship game in Austin.

Isn't that an interesting sidenote?  We win by 4, and the number 13 is also very prevalent in this game.  The Lady Hornets and fans have adopted the Bible passage from Philippians 4:13 as their theme.

Notice the picture of the players, however Madison Selman (#4) is next to Kelsey Moulder (#13)...that wasn't planned.

Back to the game...everything was tied at 0 as both Kelsee Selman (verbally committed to LSU) and Tiarra Davis (committed to the Lady Longhorns) were pitching great games through the 4th.

Then in the top half of the 5th, the Lady Hornets exploded for 6 runs.  RBI's from Madison Selman, Bryli Lee, Ashley Davis, Kelsee Selman , and Alyssa Dotson fueled the inning.

However, the Lady Lions responded with 4 runs in the bottom frame.  It didn't look promising as Henderson had runners at 2nd and 3rd with only one out, but Selman responded by striking out the next two batters in an epic clutch performance.

Alyssa Dotson smacked a two run homer in the top of the 7th to provide the final margin for the Lady Hornets.  You can check out the official box score here.

Ladies....words cannot express how proud we are of your performance, not only today, but throughout the year, and not only on the field, but everywhere you have gone.

Thank you!!!
