There was only one team in all of Texas that repeated as state softball champions - How 'bout those Hudson Lady Hornets.  Hudson scored early and often and then held off what almost became an historic Mineola rally to win 12-9

The Lady Hornets belted out 15 hits with Alyssa Pierce, Bryli Lee, KK Parker, and Alyssa Dotson each having a multi-hit game.  Dotson would lead the way with 5 RBI's, and MVP Kelsee Selman was dominating for 6 innings as Hudson built up a 12-2 lead.  However, with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 7th, the Lady Yellow Jackets of Mineola mounted a huge come back as the next 10 batters got on base.

With the score 12-9 and the bases loaded, Britney Johnson from Mineola hit a hard drive to Dotson at first who knocked the ball down, recovered, and then stepped on the base for the third and final out.

The Lady Hornets got the victory, the state championship, and then the seniors made their way back to East Texas to attend their graduation.

We even put together a compilation from the game to the music of Blake Shelton's 'Footloose'.
