'It's how you finish that counts'.

That cliche fits both teams that will by playing for the UIL Softball 3A State Championship Saturday morning.  Both Hudson and Mineola did not win their respective districts, both finishing 2nd, but once again, it's how you finish that counts.   The Hudson Lady Hornets won a slug fest with Burkburnett Thursday morning by a final of 9-5.  Hudson pounded out 10 hits in the come from behind victory, including homers from Kelsee Selman and Bryli Lee.  But, it took the Lady Hornets plating 7 runs in the final two innings to erase a 4-2 deficit to claim the victory.  Madison Jeffrey, KK Parker, Ashley Davis, and Madison Selman also had RBI's for Hudson while Kelsee Selman went the distance in the circle giving up 5 runs while scattering 7 hits.

The Mineola Lady Yellow Jackets eliminated the team with the best record in the Class 3A division.  Mineola defeated La Grange by a score of 7-1.  They put up 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back.

So, now it's set.  The Class 3A State Championship game Saturday morning between a couple of East Texas teams, Hudson and Mineola.  The game will be broadcast online at Fox Sports Southwest.

Go Lady Hornets!!
