Hudson Woman Wins ACMA Awards Sing Off
This past Saturday, nearly 20 folks ranging in age from 6 to, well, older than 30 took to the Dr. Pepper Stage at Walmart in Lufkin and sang for their tickets. It was a chance to win a pair of tickets to the 50th Annual ACMA Awards Show in Dallas.
Each contestant was given 60 seconds to give us their best acapella rendition of a song. Most opted to perform country songs, but there were a few that leaned a little more to classic rock. But, when it was all said and done, Christy Bedrich (pronounced Bedrick) from Hudson took the top prize with her rendition of Deana Carter's 'Did I Shave My Legs for This'.
For her efforts, Bedrich won a pair of tickets to the sold out awards show which will feature hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton along with performances by many stars including George Strait and Brooks & Dunn. We also threw in $100 worth of gas for the trip.
A special thanks to all the contestants who proved that East Texas is full of some very talented singers.
