Huntington Devilettes Win Exciting Game Against Robinson, Lead Series 1-0

What a game in Madisonville last night!

I was doing the play by play as the Huntington Devilettes took on the Waco Robinson Rockets in game 1 in their best of 3 series.  There was a lot of action in the early going as the Rockets opened up a 3-2 lead after two innings of play, but after that pitching and defense took over as Kelsie Batten came in and shut down the Robinson offense.

The score remained 3-2 until the bottom of the 7th inning, that's when Madison Graham laced a one-out pitch over the right fielder's head for a double, and then Erica Wright delivered with one of her 3 hits of the night knocking in Graham to tie the game.

Then, in the 8th, with Ashley Wright and Breann McNeese aboard with walks, Shelby Broaddus put down a beautiful bunt which was thrown over the 3rd baseman's head, allowing Wright to score the winning run.

The 2nd game of the series will be played tonight at 7 at Madisonville, a 3rd game, if necessary, will take place Saturday morning at 10, also in Madisonville.  You can listen to the game on Q107.
