For four years, Carlie Thomas was in the pitching circle leading the Huntington Devilettes to many victories including at state 3A championship.  Now, she is a junior pitcher for the SFA Ladyjacks and Saturday she established a collegiate career record by striking out 15 in Tempe, Arizona.  SFA defeated Creighton in tournament play Saturday afternoon 4-3.  Thomas gave up 9 hits and 3 earned runs, but she was able to pitch out of trouble with her high strike out mark.  Cadie Weaver from Splendora blasted a home run in the 6th which was difference in the game.

The Ladyjacks are 2-3 on the year and Carlie Thomas is a perfect 2-0 with an impressive 1.47 earned run average (ERA).

Next up for SFA will be a trek to Austin to take on perennial powerhouse University of Texas.  However, as a freshman, Carlie Thomas blanked the #3 Lady Longhorns in Austin 1-0.
