Is Val Kilmer Ignoring Tumor Due to Religious Beliefs?

According to a report in TMZ, the family of Val Kilmer is concerned that the 'Tombstone' actor has a tumor in his neck that he is not getting treated due to religious beliefs. 

The report goes on to say that Kilmer is a follower of Christian Science which adheres to prayer healing as opposed to medical intervention.
