It's time for the lights, sights, and sounds of the annual Pineywoods Fair at the Nacodgoches Expositition and Civic Center, (apparently, this young 'un wanted to be first in line for everything).   The fair runs from October 8th through the 12th.

Certainly, to folks traveling on the Northwest Loop, it's the mammoth rides that will first catch your attention, but the Pineywoods Fair is about so much more than the carnival midway, although Evans United Shows does bring one of the best run carnivals to all of East Texas.

Hundreds upon hundreds 4-H and FCCLA students from area schools will be showing animals and ag projects as well as showing off how well they can cook.  Some of those entries will make the sale on Saturday afternoon.  Individuals and businesses from across the East Texas area are encouraged to participate in the auction.  Believe me, the kids more than deserve your support for all of their hard work.

Cheerleading and drill team competitions will also be held, plus numerous vendors will be on hand inside the beautiful civic center.  One of the crowd favorites is the junior tractor pull on Saturday afternoon.  Entry into the grounds is $5.  Kids 3 and under get in free.
