Texas-raised Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves returned to the 'Austin City Limits' recently, where she performed 'Stupid' from her album 'Same Trailer Different Park.'

In November, the songstress joined co-headliner Dale Watson for a taping of the "longest-running music show in the history of American television." Musgraves' episode is set to air this weekend, but fans can catch a sneak peek with this live performance of 'Stupid' with her band.

Back in Austin, the starlet's attire was more subdued than her flashy 2014 Grammys dress. This time, she chose a little black dress and booties that nodded to a sleeker version of cowgirl boots -- though unfortunately, they didn't light up. While her outfit was demure, Musgraves' singing and guitar playing were anything but.

"It feels real good to be back in my home state," she told the crowd, urging them to clap to the beat of her rowdy song.

Behind the singer, a backdrop of Austin illuminated the stage and twinkle lights completed the set's ambiance, making the large number of fans feel like an intimate gathering. Musgraves, who recently won Best Country Album and Best Country Song at the Grammys, showed off her stellar acoustic guitar skills, not missing a beat throughout the intricate finger picking.

Playing on 'Austin City Limits' was a really big deal for the rising star, who admitted in an interview that it was a bucket list item for her, calling it "an honor and huge deal."

Best-known for her hits 'Blowin' Smoke,' 'Merry Go 'Round' and 'Follow Your Arrow' in addition to penning a hit for Miranda Lambert, the 25-year-old also opened up about her frank and honest songwriting.

"To me, the things I write about aren't controversial," she insists. "Country music has been a huge support in what I have to say."

Musgraves is currently on tour with country trio Lady Antebellum, so if she wants to, she can watch herself on 'ACL' while relaxing on her tour bus -- that is, if she can find time in her schedule! Her set list on the PBS show includes 'The Trailer,' 'Keep It to Yourself,' 'Back on the Map,' 'Follow Your Arrow' and 'My House' in addition to 'Stupid.'

Tune in to watch Musgraves on 'Austin City Limits' alongside Watson on Feb. 8.
