Kane Brown made his national television debut on Thursday (Dec. 1) on Ellen, performing his current single, "Thunder in the Rain."

But while the video shows him calm, cool and collected, but that might not have been the case. "LITERALLY SCARED TO DEATH BUT WE DID IT!" the 23-year-old up-and-comer writes of his performance on Twitter.

Clad in his signature relaxed look, Brown is comfortable on stage while singing the upbeat love song. He keeps rhythm while bopping around in the spotlight, smiling to fans and his bandmates.

"You're fire, I'm lightning / We're burning at the core / Falling and crashing / Girl we're a perfect storm / Every time our hearts collide / I can feel our love come alive / It's the same, baby / We're like thunder in the rain," he sings in the chorus.

The entertainer even ventures into the crowd for fan interaction, and by the way they are singing and clapping along, they seem to love it. The performance goes off with a hitch and Brown has his first, of what's bound to be many, national television performances under his belt.

"Thunder in the Rain" is the lead single off his upcoming self-titled debut album.

“The full-length album, I feel like it could really get my career going — it’s the next step up,” he says of the forthcoming project. “It’s pretty much about my life, how I grew up, loved ones that I’ve lost.”

Kane Brown is slated to be released on Dec. 2.
