Kermit the Frog Ends Relationship with Miss Piggy

Another day, another celebrity relationship down the tubes.

First, it was Blake and Miranda dropping their bombshell, then Reba and Narvel shocked the world after 26 years of marriage.  Mix in Gwen Stefani calling it quits after 12 years and you have to wonder whose relationship is next on the chopping block. 

Well, now we know, and this may be the biggest shocker of all.

Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy now have a residence in Splitsville.  Yup, the King of Green made the announcement on his Facebook Page on Tuesday:

After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, Miss Piggy and I made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to work together on television (“The Muppets”/Tuesdays 8pm this fall on ABC) and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are now distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs, frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private matter. Thank you for your understanding.

 

What could have caused their relationship to croak?  Those two had been living high on the hog for so long, but now it's over.  Is it all a publicity stunt to call attention to their new series?  Was there infidelity involved?

Hmm, speaking of which, we recall an article that came out early in 2014 in which Miss Piggy staked her claim on Blake Shelton...and now...they're both single.
